About me

My name is Yolande and I am a licensed psychotherapist, born and raised in the Netherlands.

From a young age I have been introspective and curious about the workings of my mind and personality. I am sensitive to other people's emotions and find it important to make everyone feel worthy. This hyper-focus on others has put me in very painful situations until I sought psychotherapy treatment.

Considering that therapy changed my life, I am now dedicated to sharing this gift with others. I provide a variety of therapy and consulting services, and look forward to assisting you in your journey to self-worth.

My approach

I like working with clients who are ready to go beyond learning coping skills. I use more traditional forms of talk-therapy and hold the view that people's mental health issues originate in childhood and family relationships. This is not a blame-game, however, because these relationship patterns are passed down from generation to generation.

If you choose to work with me you can expect to dive deep into the history of your life and the details of your family dynamics. I like my sessions to feel organic and authentic, so they will not be very structured. Neither will I ask you to fill out worksheets for homework. I do expect you to sincerely try to apply in real life what we discuss in sessions.
